Chine & Japan Homeward Freight Conference
Hongkong, 18th, February, 1916.
Luxuries as Cargo.
I have this morning received the following telegram from Mr. Mortleman, the Secretary to the Conference in London:-
"British Lines wish rates luxury cargo froma all ports "further advanced in order to stop shipments. Consequently "provide space necessaries. Sugest you should confer with "Colonia Government ask their advice in the matter of which "articles deal with. Instruct other ports ns may be "necessary. Nippon Yusen Knbustiki Kaisha telegraphing Tokio *suggesting co-operation. Mortleman".
I shall accordingly be obliged if you will be good enough to advise me on this matter with a view to the Agents carrying out the Owner's wishes.
